Bills Trade Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans

This morning, it was announced that the Buffalo Bills had agreed to a trade that would send multiple time all-pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, in exchange, the Bills received a 2025 2nd round pick via Minnesota. I don’t think many considered this possible for the Bills, given Diggs’ dead cap numbers over the next few years, but Brandon Beane and company got the deal done.

The Bills offense had its ups and downs throughout 2023, and Stefon Diggs was a large part of that struggle, towards the end of the season he was close to invisible when he was on the field. He was completely taken out of games in the second half of the season, and the Bills being able to come away with a 2nd round pick is a solid exchange all things considered. Now, they have to fill the void. And that will come via the draft. We already knew the Bills were likely taking a receiver in the first round, but now it seems it’s a certainty.

The Bills wide receiver room definitely took a hit, currently headline by new signing Curtis Samuel, the Bills will most definitely look to move up in the draft for someone they consider to be their WR1 of the future, the two names I think we’ll be hearing the most about a possible trade up is LSU’s Malik Nabers, and Washington’s Rome Odunze. Those two are dynamic players that could add a lot to the Bills offense, and my hunch is the Bills are willing to give up a lot to move up into the top 10 for one of them.
