RHP Dennis Santana was claimed off waivers in the middle of spring training from the Minnesota Twins, He’s appeared in multiple games this season for the Mets’ and has paid dividends since the claim. In spring training Santana, appeared in 3 games and struck out 2 while not surrendering a run. Posting those numbers Santana made the Opening Day roster. He’s proven he deserved the spot, let’s look at his stats:
3 G, 2.2 IP, 5 K’s, 0 Hits, 106 Stuff+, 66.7% Whiff% (Slider).
Those are great numbers for Santana to start off his Met career. His stuff has been really good to start, and it shows after he has yet to allow even a hit in his appearances. Even with the small sample size he has showed signs to be a good middle reliever for the Mets’ this season.
