Let’s Talk About Chuck Clark

Chuck Clark was acquired last offseason, in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick. Clark, missed all of last season due to a torn ACL in practice. Clark, would have been the Jets best safety last season.

How much of an impact does Clark add?

The Jets easily have a top 5 defense, some say the best even with poor Safety play, and Jordan Whitehead’s play style was always “hit or miss”, and judging off his stats, Whitehead LAST SEASON ALONE missed 18% of his tackles, and has a career 15.6% missed-tackle rate. Meanwhile, Clark in 2022 recorded 70 tackles, and recorded a 6.6 missed-tackle rate, and for his career is 8.3. The Jets will be getting someone who won’t put up flashy numbers, highlight-reel plays, but someone who can tackle cleanly and that is EXACTLY what this defense is in need of. Having Clark, with ballhawk Ashtyn Davis, and Tony Adams who can get his hands on the ball aswell, my confident in this Safety room just keeps growing. Fans have been overlooking the addition of Chuck Clark, and he cannot go unnoticed.
