Hit55Very disciplined approach. Solid bat-on-ball skills. Has good fluent two-handed swing motion. One of his best strengths is his contact with his flat left-handed swing. His approach does well with avoiding strikeouts and making consistent contact. Excels well at using the whole field for base hits including dropping bunts. Has a strong skill set in pushing the ball. His development in the future should consist of improving his ability to handle advanced pitching with a more refined swing.
Power35Bradfield’s power is more gap-to-gap then over-the-fence. With physical maturation to him and his swing, there is some potential for growth. He projects to be more of an average and doubles type of hitter rather than home runs.
Baserunning & Speed80Bradfield Jr. has outstanding speed and baserunning skills. This is one of his standout tools. He has very intelligent base running skills that make him dangerous to the opposition anytime he’s on the basepaths. He has a very aggressive style that always poise a threat for extra bases. His speed is top-tier level, he can impact any game when on the basepaths, stealing bases, and covering ground in center field. His baserunning & speed complement each other very well.
Glove/Field60Bradfield is a plus defender with great range and instincts to play the position well. He gets to ground balls fast and can cut it off in the gap at an above average rate with his agility. He covers the outfield well and can track down balls with the best of them challenging runners trying to take extra bases. He uses his speed to bolster his defense for his average to below-average arm strength.
Arm45A below-average arm but sufficient to cover the position well. Bradfield may not have the elite arm as a primary weapon in center field, but it is accurate. He has strong enough velocity to get the ball back into the infield quickly with good carry. His speed and defensive instincts compensate for his arm strength limitations.
Overall:
Bradfield Jr. has a slim frame with top-tier speed. He has an impressive set of skills with his elite speed and strong defensive awareness and instincts to be a standout player. He has a high floor and a high ceiling. His speed now is already in comparison with the best of them. Having ‘behind closed doors’ speed competitions with teammate Jorge Mateo during spring training. He can be a valuable contributor to the top of any lineup. Has the perfect skill set as a hitter to be a great leadoff hitter while also being a cornerstone outfielder. With his continued growth, especially in hitting consistency and even power. He could excel beyond the 55 range and become a potential All-Star. He reflects a balance of elite tools in speed, base running, defense, and contact. With continued progression he can become a key player to his team at the highest level.

William Bergolla

Primary Position: Shortstop

Secondary Position(s): Second Base

Physical/Health:
Still just 19, Bergolla is still going through physical maturation with plenty of room for development. Strong conditioning. Relies heavily on his physical attributes. Has a very strong work ethic with great recovery. No significant injury history. Subject to wear and tear but has demonstrated great durability throughout his career and can handle the demands of the middle infield and using his contact, speed, and athleticism to his advantage throughout the rigors of the long seasons.

Hit60Bergolla has shown in 2024 to 2025 an above average contact with great plate discipline. He makes consistent contact and controls the strike zone well. He has shown the potential to hit for a high average with future upside. With his consistent contact rate, he has one of the lowest strikeout rates in the minor leagues. High baseball IQ with very little chase rate. One of the lower points is his higher ground ball rate. With time would like to see him elevate a bit more and push up through the ball.
Power30This is one of Bergolla’s biggest question mark as a hitter is his impact he can have with very limited power. He produces a lot of ground balls and generates a below league average exit velo on his contact. With over 160+ games played in the minor leagues; he has only hit one home run. With time and maturity, he can excel a little stronger in this range. I do believe he is a single digit power guy each season and looks for more in the gap hits rather than over the fence home runs.
Baserunning & Speed55His speed is above average with over 25 stolen bases last season and 40 this season. It contributes to the defensive side as well with his prowess and approach. He also has gotten better with his base running and base stealing instincts. Becoming more of a threat on the base paths in the 2024 and ’25 seasons.
Glove60Highly regarded for his skills at shortstop. Has seen time at second base this year with Jersey Shore. Since the trades has been back at shortstop mainly. Good range that I believe will further develop in the right direction. Quick reflexes that allow him to keep the ball in front of him and cover the position well.
Arm55The way Bergolla positions himself with his quick reflexes and feet placement makes it easier for him to carry the positions in the middle infield well. Not relying on his arm as much as he needs to. I think his arm can improve and has the arm to play SS but in the major league level. I feel eventually he may be slated better for second base. Still very early in development and I think he still has years before really seeing his physical maturity but as of now. He can defensively handle the middle infield well, but I project his arm to be more slated toward second base. Would like to see a full season at SS in higher level ball before full assessment.
Overall
Still years away from making any sort of impact on a big-league team, he still has plenty of physical maturity to go through as he goes through his first couple seasons of professional baseball. With his impressive defensive work and contact rate, he profiles as an above average defender, with an average arm. He has the potential to reach elite level defensive skills to back up his arm and his play at either middle infield position. He has improved well in his baserunning in 2024 and seems to have picked up a gear or two of speed. So far in professional baseball he has hit for contact well and has a solid batting average. If he can continue to do that consistently and look for ways to raise the ball a little more, avoiding the ground ball then his future is bright.  Only 19 years old, he’s got a lot of physical maturity still left to do that will benefit him as he continues to climb the ranks of baseball until eventually reaching the big leagues.

This is a swing report (with TruMedia) I did on the Aberdeen Ironbirds roster during RHP vs LHP against all different types of common pitches seen.

Rikuu Nishida

Physical/Health:
Still young and adjusting after his first two years in MiLB. Made a big step in his first full season. No significant injuries in professional baseball and continues ramp up and move up the ranks. Very strong work ethic, handles the high demands of a long season well. Looking to add muscle heading into 2025 but still keep his speed and agility.

Hit55Fast, disciplined, solid approach. Fluent bat-on-ball skills. Two-handed swing with full torque toward first base during swing. Leans out at the ball looking for more of a poke than getting underneath it. All contact type swing. Let’s pitchers velo do most of the hit distancing. Works very well at using the whole field. Most outfielders position toward him being a push hitter and he can turn a simple grounder past first and second into a triple with his speed as well. His development in the future should consist of more advanced pitching at the higher levels with more power in his swing.
Power35Rikuu has a softer contact approach and is focused on more gap-to-gap then over-the-fence. With some added muscle weight this offseason I do expect him to improve his home run numbers a bit. I still project him to be an under 7-HR a season type hitter. There is time for a tweaked approach should he struggle in higher minor league affiliates.
Baserunning & Speed70Rikuu has a tremendous speed that works well with his aggressiveness to steal bases. He has the output to reach base 200 times a season and steal 25% of the time. Sometimes his aggressiveness becomes over-aggressiveness and leads to costly outs on the bases. With some work on the bases to manage leads and pitcher mechanics, he can become one of the biggest baserunning threats in minor league baseball that would translate well in today’s game. His baserunning & speed have complemented each other better this season. Has a done a very good job avoiding GIDP’s with his speed. With the added weight he wants to put on this offseason, hopefully he can continue to work on his craft and work on becoming a continued threat also on the bases.
Glove60Nishida has improved a lot being able to play both 2B and LF. As of now he has been limited to those two positions but there is room for improvement in playing all the outfield. He has managed both positions well and keeps the ball in front of him. Splitting time almost equally and has not been a liability in either position. His glove is there and can make the long throws and on-the-run throws. I question more his reaction time to getting to the baseball before it gets past him. More work this season should be able clear this up. I watched him take 1-on-1 drills specifically at 2B to continue to improve his mechanics on the other side of the field. He has the capability of playing 3B for his distance but needs more work on a quicker reaction time.
Arm45A below-average arm that is made up with his shallow presence in the outfield and throwing accuracy and speed to play both positions. Nishida best attribute is his ability to get to the ball as fast as anyone to have more time to make the play. His arm isn’t the biggest threat in the outfield. Runners will be more prone to run when hit in his direction. Continued building of muscle in all extremities should improve that. Has an accurate arm and can be a manageable arm in the outfield. Has great instincts and speed to compensate the reaction time and lower tier arm strength.
Overall:
Rikuu has a small frame with above average speed and high-level contact. A solid leadoff or end of the lineup hitter to flip the batting order. He knows how to get on base and move around the bases with ease. His ability to play both 2B and LF at almost a split amount while moving through three different levels of minor league baseball shows growth and continued experience. While he is still young, I think his biggest factor now is offensively putting some more power behind the ball and becoming more of a gap hitter and using his speed to take extra bases. He is about a year away from being a valuable contributor to any major league lineup. I would like to see him continue to work on his defense a bit more and become more comfortable with other positions. While playing LF and 2B is great diversity. I would like to see him try and become more of a modern-day utility player to really boost his chances of being an all-around player against major league talent. Nishida had an impressive 2024, I believe with some more drill work defensively, he can continue his progression toward being an everyday major leaguer.
