BREAKING: The New York Jets extend BOTH first round draft picks from 2022, star Receiver Garrett Wilson and arguably one-of the games best cornerbacks, Sauce Gardner. Both players get a four year deal, Gardner’s is $120.4, 30.1 million APY, which would make him the highest paid CB EVER. Garrett’s deal is $130 million, $32.5 million APY (per Adam Schefter).

Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson is one of just five receivers in NFL history to record 1,000+ receiving yards and 80+ receptions in his first three seasons, including the likes of Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr. and Micheal Thomas (Adam schefter). Garrett also hasn’t had a competent quarterback throwing him the football, with the likes of Zach Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco, Trevor Semien, Tim Boyle, and Aaron Rodgers. Wilson is looking to explode with his former college quarterback, Justin Fields who signed a two year deal with the Jets this past offseason. Garrett said today “I’ve always kept my faith in that this thing’s gonna turn around and that I’m gonna be a big part of why it does.” (SNY Jets).
Sauce Gardner

Sauce Gardner signed a 4 year, $120M, $30.5 AAV which makes Sauce the highest paid cornerback ever, $85.6M is guaranteed. Sauce Gardener said today he didn’t want to agree to his contract the day Garrett did so he could have his day. Sauce was also asked about his criticism, and he responded with “The sky is the limit for me, and I’m very aware of that.” (SNYJets).
Times Are Changing
From 2011-2022, the Jets had only signed ONE first-round pick (Muhammad Wilkerson). Since then? Quinnen Williams, Garrett Wilson and now Sauce Gardner. The Jets also introduced a brand new, state-of-the-art locker room after being graded a D+ for locker rooms on the NFLPA report card.

Other News
Quinnen Williams stated that he continually calls Chris Jones trying to “pick his brain” and trains with him. He also stated how “bad” Woody Johnson and the organization want to see this team start winning. Connor Hughes stated that this is a team that’s “sick and tired of losing, and ready to turn it around.” And lastly, the Jets sign second-round pick, Tight end Mason Taylor to his rookie contract. Mason is the son of former Jet, Jason Taylor, former defensive end.
