Mariners Make a Splash
Early this morning, the Seattle Mariners acquired outfielder Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for prospects OF Aiden Smith, RHP Brody Hopkins, and a PTBNL. The Mariners were in huge need of a bat, and they get one in Arozarena, who has two more years of control after this season. The Mariners are still looking at other options to further improve their lineup.

Chisholm Gaining Interest
There are no shortage of teams interested in Jazz Chisholm. The Mariners, Royals, Yankees, and Pirates among suitors. Many have concerns over Chisholm’s personality but they’d be getting an above average bat and a solid defender in centerfield in addition to second base.

Reds Contemplating India Trade
The Reds have informed teams that they would not move Jonathan India unless they fell out of the NL Wild Card race. They currently sit 4.5 games out of a Wild Card Spot and 4 games below .500. The Yankees have “serious” interest in India, the Mariners also have interest but we don’t know how that has changed since the Arozarena deal.

Rays Listening on Paredes, uncertain if he Is moved
The Rays are definitely listening on most of their pieces. They dealt Arozarena this morning. They are generating lots of interest in some of their infielders. Isaac Paredes is generating interest from teams like the Astros, Yankees, and likely the Mariners as well. Yandy Diaz is also available, he returns tonight after a weeklong stay on the restricted list due to family reasons. He’s likely to be moved. Brandon Lowe is a player who could be moved, he has a 2025 option and can slot right into the middle of a lineup.
