Islanders Sign Duclair, Reilly on Day 1 of Free Agency

The New York Islanders have announced today that they have signed Mike Reilly and Anthony Duclair to contracts.

Duclair, 28, is joining the Islanders as his 9th team within a span of 11 seasons. Duclair joins the Islanders with 303 points in 563 games, proving he is a high-quality middle 6 forward. Duclair has playing experience under coach Patrick Roy in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts. Duclair also has experience with third line center Jean-Gabriel Pageau, which he was a teammate of when he played for the Ottawa Senators. Last season, Duclair had 24 goals and 18 assists for a total of 42 points.

Reilly, 30, has signed a 1-year contract extension with the Islanders today. Reilly was originally claimed off waivers by the Islanders on November 25th, 2023 from the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers. Reilly has proven to the Islanders and Patrick Roy that he is a quality defenseman, deserving of an NHL contract and a roster spot. Reilly totaled 6 goals and 18 assists for 24 points last season.
