For the first time since 2019, the New York Islanders have used their first round pick in the NHL Draft. They selected forward Cole Eiserman out of the US National Development Program, the Islanders are gonna get great value out of this pick.

Eiserman is the most prolific goal scorer in this draft, putting up 83 goals in 81 games, and 123 total points. Eiserman has the best shot in this draft class, this time last year he was originally projected to go 2nd overall behind Macklin Celebrini, but due to concerns about his defensive game and compete level, he falls to 20th overall and the Islanders pounced on it. The Islanders since they haven’t made a first round pick since 2019, they don’t exactly have a strong prospect pool. Eiserman immediately becomes the Isles top prospect. Eiserman will attend Boston University in the fall, where he may be playing alongside Macklin Celebrini.
