Jets Sign Tarik Cohen

(The players tribune)

Earlier in the day, the Jets signed former Bears running back Tarik Cohen. Cohen has been through a lot in his career, on and off the field. The 2017 fourth-round pick has been ridiculed with injuries, most notably a Torn ACL and MCL in 2020. Cohen missed the entire 2021 season, and was on an Instagram live story where his Achilles popped and hasn’t played a game since. That’s not all, Cohen also has dealt with the loss of his brother, and with all of this piled up, Cohen has been a player I have always rooted for personally. When playing, he is dynamic, accumulating 264 carries for 1,101 yards, 209 catches for 1,575 yards and 15 touchdowns. Cohen is also a very effective punt returner, going for 96 returns with 985 yards (statmuse) and made the pro bowl in 2018. Tarik won’t be getting that many carries if he makes the roster, but I believe he would be a very good return man, and just the comeback story from all he has dealt with would be awesome.
