The Jets have re-sign Safety, Ashtyn Davis, which in-all likelihood wraps up the safety room. Davis, Clark and Adams will be your 2024-25 Jets safeties, not the best group, but definitely has upside to it.
Davis’ Stats
This past season, The former 3rd round pick had a career year thus-far putting up 23 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble, 3 (career-high) interceptions and 8 pass deflections. He also recorded a safety on December 3rd Vs the Atlanta Falcons (with some help from Quinnen Williams).
How does Davis play?
Davis is your typical ballhawk, he had 6 turnovers which is a career-high, and only did-so in 19% of snaps played. Davis, will play a HUGE roll this coming season, especially with the Special Teams unit, with the loss of Captain Justin Hardee, going to his hometown team the Cleveland Browns. Another thing worth noting is Davis is the only remaining 2020 draft selection on the Jets, and I must say, I’m very happy to have Ash back in the Green and White.
Contract
Davis’ contract is a one-year deal, worth $2.74 million, $167,500 guaranteed. Davis will carry a $1.29 million cap hit (per Over the cap). Phenomenal value for the “ball-hawk” safety.
