BREAKING: Unexpectedly, the Jets acquire star Edge-rusher Hasson Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles. Reddick has 10 or more sacks since 2020, with his most being 16.0 in 2022. Reddick last season accounted for 11.0 sacks, 38 COMB tackles, and 9 AST. Very productive from the 29 year old, and with how the Jets operate, I’m expecting another monster season incoming.
What does this mean for the Jets, and the DL?
Quinnen Williams will benefit the most from this (production wise). Last season, Quinnen was double teamed almost every snap. Now, he will going to be lined up with Reddick and Jermaine Johnson. The Jets also have other names such as: John Franklin-Myers, Will McDonald, Javon Kinlaw, Leki Fatu. This DLine is going to be a problem in the NFL, and maybe the best in the entire league. It is going to be an absolute nightmare for opposing teams Offensive Lines.

Where he ranks

The Jets are adding a monster who can get to the QB. Saleh loves the DL, and adding someone of Reddick’s caliber will only make this DL better. I also believe that adding Reddick can help mentor Will McDonald, and sure it was a bad pick last year, but I like that Joe Douglas is showing that he’s not gonna politic himself, and realize he made a mistake.
Contract
Reddick, 29, will be a free agent after this season. And if Reddick plays 67% of snaps, the conditional third turns into a second. If healthy, I expect Reddick to play past that, along with a nice extension.
