The Mets have a huge need in the corner outfield and the outfield in general. The Tampa Bay Rays are reportedly shopping one of the best outfielders in the game last year, Randy Arozarena who is due an estimated $9 million dollars thru arbitration via MLB trade rumors. Arozarena has three years of team control left. TB can hold a high price I wouldn’t expect it to be super high but its gonna cost a pretty penny to acquire one of the best outfields in the game, and his stats show why:
Randy Arozarena’s 2023 Season:
⁃ .254/.364/.425
⁃ 23 HRs – 22 SBs
⁃ .403 xwOBACON
⁃ 12.3 Barrel%
⁃ 91.7 Average Exit Velocity
⁃ 126 wRC+
⁃ 3.3 fWAR
Those numbers are why Arozarena has been consider a top outfielder in the game, and why he could easily fit into this lineup and consistently bring power and speed, as the team already has somebody that has went for a 30-30 season in their franchise cornerstone Francisco Lindor. Adding Arozarena who’s been a 20+ HR guy with 20+ SB is very nice to have in your lineup for the long haul. But to trade for a guy like him it’s gonna cost the Mets a decent amount.
Arozarena To Mets Mock Trade:
Mets Send: Justin Jarvis, Alex Ramirez, Drew Smith, Calvin Ziegler, Cash.
Rays Send:
OF Randy Arozarena
This deal would benefit both teams in my honest opinion as the Rays get 2 really decent pitching prospects with Ramirez who as of now is kinda of like a lottery ticket and Drew Smith who can be molded into a really solid arm for the ‘pen. Mets bring in one of the top offensive outfielders in the game and don’t fully gut their farm system.
