Last night the Buffalo Bills played the New York Jets in Meadowlands New Jersey with a final score of 16-22 Jets winning a thriller in Overtime.
Scoring Recap
The Jets stopped BUF on their opening drive then…it was Jets ball and on the fourth play, future Hall of fame Quarterback Aaron Rodgers would get sacked by Leonard Floyd which would lead to his calf popping and tearing his Achilles. Wilson would step in. Bills would score on a field goal on their second drive, 3-0 BUF. Jets next drive, Wilson had a beautiful strike to Lazard for a first but it ultimately led up nothing. Bills get the ball and for some reason Allen just LAUNCHED a ball into double-coverage and Jordan Whitehead (we will hear about him later) got his first interception of the year. With the Interception and the jets backed-up around their endzone, Breece Hall showed the world why he is an incredible talent by putting the jets on and gaining an 80-yard run. Drive ended in a field-goal, game tied at 3. Bills would have a much-needed drive down the field which led to another Allen-Diggs touchdown, even if it was a bit controversial as it appeared Allen was well over the line of scrimmage but it stands, 10-3 Bills. Matt Milano would intercept Zach Wilson, threw the ball right to him. Jets defense would hold strong, holding Buffalo to a field-goal. 13-3 Bills. Jets very next drive respond with a Field-goal, 13-6 Bills still on-top. Remember when I said we’d talk about Jordan Whitehead again? He would intercept Josh Allen, his second of the game. Jordan Whitehead with the game of his life hit his THIRD INTERCEPTION of the game, which led to Garret Wilson, with arguably the catch and touchdown of the year. An incredible catch would make it a 12-13 game, Jets tied it on the extra point. Allen would drop the snapped ball, run forward but fumble it. Jets ball, and they take the lead on another field-goal. 16-13. Bills would have a drive with lots of quick-strike passes, and Bass the Bills kicker would doink a 50 yard kick in to tie the game. OT, Bills ball and they would go 3-and-out. Bills punt, and undrafted-rookie Xavier Gipson would have his “welcome to the NFL” moment returning a punt for a touchdown in his first NFL game on a night where the Jets newly acquired star would be out for the year. Truly an awful yet magical night.
Jets QB now
It was said by coach Robert Saleh the Jets will ride with QB Zach Wilson but it was reported earlier that the Jets have been “in contact”’with other veteran QBs. Some names in mind:
Collin Kaepernick
Colt McCoy
Jamies Winston
Andy Dalton
Cam Newton
Case Keenum
Jacoby Brissett
Sam Darnold reunion?
Many more names aswell.
I think Jamies Winston or Andy Dalton should be the guy the Jets acquire, both would fit the system very well and would be a good veteran to have with Wilson/Boyle (along with Rodgers also coaching them up)
