As we head into training camp and preseason, there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to the Bills. Ranging from the battle and the middle linebacker spot, and different roles in the offence, amongst other things. The Bills have a bright season ahead of them, and there’s a lot to look forward to.

1. Rookie TE Dalton Kincaid
Kincaid to me is the biggest part of this training camp for the Bills, the Bills selected him 25th overall after trading up with the Jaguars, Kincaid is going to be a huge weapon for Josh Allen. Kincaid has been labeled as having one of the Best camps for the Bills. He could be a weapon out of the slot or lined up as a traditional tight end. Though comparisons are just comparisons before a rookie hits the field. Kincaid is getting comparisons to Chiefs TE Travis Kelce. He could be the biggest x-factor for the Bills offence this season.

2. Offensive Line
Coming into the off-season, everyone on the planet knew that the Bills needed to improve their offensive line, and they did that in two ways. They signed former Cowboys guard Connor McGovern to a multi year deal, replacing Rodger Saffold at the left guard spot, and is a notable improvement. Secondly, they drafted Florida guard O’Cyrus Torrence in the 2nd round of the draft, who is likely to start over Ryan Bates at the right guard spot. Only spot on the offensive line that looks a bit suspect right now is right tackle, the Bills are betting on Spencer Brown to take that leap to elevate himself into a quality starter to protect Josh Allen.

3. Year Two James Cook Breakout?
The Bills picked James Cook in the 2nd round of the 2022 Draft, in his rookie year he played a big role as the RB2 behind Devin Singletary. Having just around 500 yards on less than 100 carries, averaging almost 6 yards per carry. With the departure of Singletary to Houston, Cook is primed to play a huge role in the Bills offence in the run game and the pass game, and can be a significant weapon.

4. Kaiir Elam CB2?
After being drafted in the first round of the 2022 draft, Elam wasn’t atop the Bills depth chart come the beginning of the season. Veteran DB Dane Jackson as well as fellow rookie Christian Benford both rose above him in the depth chart with the absence of Tre’Davious White. However with White back, the Bills have another battle for the 2nd corner position, between Elam, Benford, and Jackson. If Elam manages to win the spot, which I think he will, him and White along with Taron Johnson in the nickel could be one of the best corner trios in the league. Elam has flashed his great potential in the games that he did play a big part in, including the Bills playoff win against Miami, Elam made several game saving plays for the Bills and he needs to be made a huge part of the defence.

5. Middle Linebacker Battle
After the departure of Pro-Bowl LB Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears, the Bills were left with a big question and that is who will start at the Middle linebacker spot. It’s a deep position battle between Tyrel Dodson, Baylon Specter, Terrel Bernard, and Dorian Williams. It’s truly anybody’s spot to win at this point, I think at the end of camp it’ll be Bernard’s spot. He showed flashes when Edmunds was injured last season and I think he can slot into that role full time.
