The Mets have moved INF Eduardo Escobar to the Angels during the Phillies, Mets game last night. They acquired RHPs Coleman Crow, Landon Marceaux, both now ranked in the Mets system respectively Crow at #11, Marceaux at #18. I don’t believe this indicates a Mets’ sell-off, even though the struggling ball club has a 34-41 record, and the Mets struggles have not gotten better being 5-14 in the month of June, but I don’t believe Cohen and the Front Office want to be “sellers” at the deadline. Let’s look at Coleman Crow’s stats then we will look into Landon Marceaux.
Coleman Crow Stats In Double-A (2023)
24.0 IP
4 GS
36.0% K%
7.0% BB%
1.88 ERA
Crow had a really good start to the year before an elbow injury, According to Baseball America he has been throwing bullpen sessions but no set return date as of right now. He’s been on the IL since May 12.
Landon Marceaux Stats In Double-A (2023)
59.0 IP
12 GS
17.1% K%
7.2% BB%
4.88 ERA
Marceaux has been rocky in Double-A but i wouldn’t look into that much, if he can continue to keep his walks down that would be great.
Trade Grade: A- for the Mets:
In my opinion I believe the Mets’ made a great deal here getting 2 young potential MLB starters for Escobar who wasn’t a starter for the club anymore with Brett Baty taking that job.
