On June 13th, 2023 the New York Jets sign veteran Strong Safety Adrian Amos to a One-year $4m deal. This is huge because the jets needed safety help dramatically because underperforming players with Jordan whitehead (who was also overpaid but took a pay-cut) and Larmcus Joyner. Our safety room was absolutely atrocious. This off-season the jets so far have added TWO veteran safeties who are very good. Chuck Clark and now Amos, pair with a Jordan Whitehead who’s expecting a bounce back season along with youngster Tony Adams. Secondary besides CB was a need for the New York Jets and they have upgraded it in a very solid way. Go Jets. How does he fit in? He brings veteran depth into a young and hungry secondary, and he brings a mixture of both ball-hawking and a solid all around tackler. Too many players last year went for the hit-sticks and either got flagged or missed tackles, while also not getting many turnovers. Amos brings an excellent play style to an already solid secondary. Amos isn’t the player he once was, but with this safety group last season anything is help.
