What goes into the Yanks’ recent success?

The Yankees have found their footing, and are starting to shoot up in every facet of the game. Power, Speed, Pitching, Standings. Over their last 10 games, the team is 8-2. After being in last place, the Yankees have started to climb up, now only 6 GB of first place and have climbed up to third place. Now, what’s with their recent success? Well, they are slowly getting reinforcements. Aaron Judge came back to the Yankee lineup, and in his last 8 games, he’s doing his MVP like damage. Judge is slashing .444/.559/1.074 with 15 hits, 7 homers, and 16 RBIs in his last 8 games played against the Rays, Blue Jays, and Reds. Another reinforcement that returned has been Harrison Bader, who’s provided an immediate spark this year. In his first 19 games, he’s slashed .277/.309/.523 with 18 hits, 4 homers, 15 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases. His defense is also amongst the best in the league, covering tons of ground and has elite range in Center Field.

The Return of Sevy

Luis Severino returned against the Reds today, and did not disappoint. In 4.2 IP, he only gave up one run, walking one, giving up four hits, and striking out five, while only throwing 75 pitches. Severino featured a fastball that went up to 99 MPH, a slider, and a changeup, all being very effective for him. He will most likely replace Jhony Brito in the rotation.

Yanks bullpen amongst the best

The Yankees bullpen isn’t 100% healthy, but they are still amongst the best Pen’s in the league, even while missing big pieces like Tommy Kahnle, who’s on a rehab assignment, Lou Trivino, out for the year, and Scott Effross, who’s also expected to miss most, if not all year. After Sunday’s game, the Yankees bullpen leads the entire MLB with an earned run average of 2.90. That’s impressive. Michael King, Ron Marinaccio, Jimmy Cordero, have all played a huge role in that.
