Former Ranger Jesper Fast has been a great top 9 winger for the Hurricanes’, and with the Rangers in need of a hard forechecking winger, should they try and bring him back? Let’s talk about it!
Fast in 80 regular season games for the Hurricanes put up 10 goals and 19 assists, totaling for 29 points. Also put up a 58.69 xG% (at 5v5.) which is really good for his role, and exactly what NYR needs. This past playoffs the Rangers lacked the hard forechecker in the top 9, Fast could easily slot in on line 3, and bring the intensity levels that the NYR lacked.
Contract prediction:
2 Years, $2,167,000 AAV.
It would be a good deal for NYR to have a 3rd line winger slot in at not the highest cap hit, plus if Goodrow is moved it feels like he can replace part of his role.
