Tuesday Morning reports came saying, Sanchez and the Mets agreed to a MiLB. The veteran catcher was released a couple weeks back that he was released from his MiLB deal with the Giants’. The Mets’ added needed catching depth, as Naravez is down with injury the catching room is thin. The 30 year old catcher had a slash line of: .205/.282/.377 with the Twins’ in 2022. Many Met fans have asked the question should they get rid of Nido and make Sanchez the back up until Naravez returns, the answer is unlikely. Billy Eppler has shown in the past he isn’t quick to give up on struggling players, especially after extensions, trades. Like I stated before it’s a nice depth piece for the Mets going forward, not much more than that.
