Rangers season over, outlook on it, Part One

As we all know, the Rangers had a frustrating playoff, and they didn’t even come close to the result they wanted. Their season ended ultimately at the hands of the New Jersey Devils in Game 7. So, now what?

How the Rangers can improve their team

Well, Patrick Kane’s stay as a Ranger was very highly anticipated, but it shouldn’t last long, as the vet forward could very well be on his way out of the city as well. With the Rangers having a lot of priorities, Kane may not be on that list, as the Rangers should try and retain the other deadline acquisitions, like Tarasenko, Motte, and Mikkola. Alexis Lafreniére is also a RFA too.

After going up 2-0 in Games 1 and 2, it seemed as the Rangers just let up. The only player that showed up every game after that was Igor Shesterkin, as he gave practically everything he had on the ice. His 1.96 GAA and .931 SV% just wasn’t enough (it should’ve been more than enough) as he was just completely left out to dry from games 3-5, and in game 7. Gotta believe the Rangers are gonna go after some pieces to help him out in this off-season.
