Kodai Senga’s signature pitch the ‘Ghost Fork’ has been a top pitch in the MLB this season. It’s been an elite pitch since it’s debut, Senga has been a top pitcher since his debut. and the main reasoning has been the ‘Ghost Fork’ pitch that has been killing batters all season, lets look at the stats:
‘Ghost Fork’ Stats:
.033 xBA (6th in MLB across all pitchers, pitches.)
-3 Run Value
61.5 Whiff%
0.0 Hard Hit%
72.7 K%
.050 BA
Just absolute killer stuff by Senga, and it will be a dominant pitch for years to come if Senga can keep the numbers like this. At the end of the day the Mets found a gem and got him for 5 more years. It will be tough for Senga to keep these numbers up over his whole MLB career but he’s been using it very well and not overusing it, throwing it only 21.5% of the time. Senga’s only pitch that has a + run value is the Sweeper, which shouldn’t be a problem for the moment, as he has had some issues controlling the long ball with it, all 3 of his HRs have come from it.
