The Mets’ completed the sweep against the Athletics in a I’d say weird series. But we’re here to recap the final game, and preview Dodgers series. It all started off with Butto on the bump for the Mets, JP Sears on for the A’s. Both pitchers had decent first innings neither would allow a run, then top 2, Tommy Pham launched a 92.3 MPH Four-Seam Fastball over the right center wall giving the Mets an early 1-0 lead. Then decent pitching from both sides held it down, until bot 5. Butto would give up a RBI single to Esteury Diaz, 1-1 game. Butto’s day would end after 5, Final line: 5.0 IP

Not a terrible start but the walks definitely could’ve been better. Onto the top half of the 6th, Lindor came up with 2 outs and launched his 4th HR of the year. 2-1 Mets. Then both bullpen’s pitched alright until John Curtiss came in for the Mets. Curtiss would walk 2 let up 1 single, then the go ahead RBI double scoring 2 runners, 3-2 Athletics. Due up for the Mets final chance for a come back was, Lindor, Alonso, Canha. Lindor would get out. Alonso would tie the game with an absolute moonshot to center that went “430 FT” looked a lot farther than that but the Mets tie and its 3-3. Escobar later in the inning would get a chance with the bases loaded and 1 out, he would GIDP ending the inning. Bottom 9, Yacabonis would make his season debut. He would pitch a scoreless inning, moving the game into extras. Escobar would be the ghost runner for the top half of the 10. Alvarez would move over Escobar on a well hit fly out. Nimmo would strike out. 2 outs, the A’s pitcher Zach Jackson would walk, Marte. 1st and 3rd now for the Mets offense. Then Lindor would also walk but Escobar would score via the wild pitch. 4-3 Mets. The inning would proceed to go on and the Mets still had a chance to inflect more damage. But the A’s got out of it we head to the bottom half of the 10th. David Robertson entered the game, he would get the 3 outs necessary for the win/save. Mets win a rocky one against the A’s, 4-3. Denyi Reyes, John Curtiss, Jimmy Yacabonis, David Robertson would all appear in the game, besides for Curtiss shaky day the bullpen performed well today.
WP Yacabonis (1-0)
LP Moll (0-2)
S Robertson (4)
