Nets drop the first game of the series in Philadelphia. The Nets played Embiid well but Harden stepped up big time for the 76ers. While Embiid only put up 26/5/3 Harden put up 23/4/13. Another thing that killed the Nets was being careless with the ball, and turning it over 20 times. Mikal and Cam played very well but everyone else was just okay or bad, which needs to change if they want a chance to move on.
Mikal and CJ would combine for 48 points, nearly half the team’s scoring altogether. Mikal scored 30 points along with 5 rebounds and 1 assist. He shot 12-18 from the field and 2-4 from three. He also had a block. CJ scored 18 points with 4 rebounds and 2 assists as well. He shot 7-11 from the field and 4-6 from three.

The defense was terrible. Only 3 steals, and 2 coming from 1 player. Their inability to generate turnovers is why they lost. When you are playing a team like the 6ers, you need to defend well, and the Nets just didn’t. Now they’re down 1-0 instead of up 1-0. They needed someone other than Claxton to step up on the boards, which just didn’t happen. It also didn’t help that the bench didn’t generate anything of use, only scoring 28 points.

Evening up the series before it goes to Brooklyn will be tough, but doable. If the defense steps up, and Mikal and Cam play well again, the Nets can definitely steal a game or two in this series. They just really need someone to step up next to Mikal and Cam scoring wise. Game 2 will be Monday at 7:30 pm, televised on TNT.
