The Mets’ took down the Padres by a final score of 5-0. Scherzer, Lindor, McNeil all shine in the W for the Mets. Early in the game there was not much action, few base runners here and there by nothing much. Both pitchers were dueling, until the bottom half of the third, Nimmo singled, Lindor walked making it 1st and 2nd with 2 outs for Jeff McNeil. McNeil would smack a line drive down the right field line scoring both Nimmo and Lindor making it 2-0 Mets’. Then more good pitching by both sides. Scherzer’s day would end after 5 IP his final line:
97 P 5.0 IP 3 BB 1 H 0 ER/Runs 6 SO 44% Whiff% (Slider.) 2.80 FIP.

The walks and the pitch count could’ve been better but no complaints after he bounced back against a star studded Padres’ lineup. John Curtiss, Drew Smith, David Robertson, Adam Ottavino all came out of the bullpen tonight. Now onto bottom 7, Canha pulled one down the line for a double, Escobar drove him in with a sac fly making it 3-0 Mets’. Guillorme on 3rd while Nimmo was on 1st with 2 outs for Francisco Lindor. He would rip one down the left field line, it was a 2 run double which made it 5-0 Mets’. Mets’ pitching really held down the fort during the game with Scherzer, Curtiss, Smith, Roberston, Ottavino combined for 14 strikeouts. WP Max Scherzer (2-1, 4.41.) LP Yu Darvish (0-1, 4.76)
