The Islanders cruised to a 4-0 win over the Flyers, the Panthers and Penguins also won, so the standings don’t change besides points increasing. With two games remaining, the playoff push is here. Bo Horvat saying yesterday “It’s a lot better than Vancouver, i’ll tell you that for free.”

For the first time since his injury earlier in the season, Simon Holmström yesterday looked like himself again. Some good skating and solid playmaking skills are starting to show themselves again and at a big point in the season.

Injury Updates
F Mathew Barzal: Skating on his own, not practicing with the team
D Alex Romanov: Not skating, and not practicing with the team.

Wild Card Update
With all 3 teams having just 2 games left, let’s look at their upcoming schedules:
New York: Washington, Montreal
Florida: Toronto, Carolina
Pittsburgh: Chicago, Columbus
The Isles are in a great spot here. Especially if Florida loses at least one of their remaining games, the Islanders will end up with a playoff spot assuming they win out. As the Isles want to avoid Boston in the first round.
