Islanders Demolish Lighting 6-1

The Islanders played probably their most complete game of the season last night. Winning a big game against Tampa Bay to stay alive in the Wild Card race. The Isles showed up in a crucial point of the season where every game is a must win.

The Line or Engvall-Nelson-Palmeri was a force in this game. Nelson and Palmeri each had goals, this line for the Islanders headed to a potential playoff series is scorching hot. They need to keep it up.

Adam Pelech has started to pick it up offensively, recording a goal yesterday, he missed some time with some injury, but if he can find offensive stability and playmaking we’ll be in a great spot for the remainder of the season.

An update on the Wild Card race, Florida overtook the top spot but the Isles are tied with them. The Panthers have a difficult schedule remaining which includes teams like Toronto and Carolina. The Isles schedule remaining is light with the Flyers, Caps, and Habs. Pittsburgh also has a light schedule facing Detroit, Chicago and Columbus. It wouldn’t surprise me if they got in due to Florida losing games.
