Quickley Leads Way In Big Knicks Win

Immanuel Quickley celebrating during a game vs the Heat

The Knicks just won the biggest game on the season without their star, Julius Randle. Randle got hurt late in the second quarter, which is a huge concern especially with the playoffs so close. The Knicks went up two at halftime, and then were tied up after three. Josh Hart, RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and Quentin Grimes all had a good contribution for the Knicks in this win. The Knicks outscored Miami 25-16 in the fourth quarter which paved the way to this win. Nice way to celebrate Knicks’ legend Clyde Frazier’s 78th birthday.

RJ Barrett started off this game 0-7 going into halftime, but really stepped up in Julius Randle’s absence. He scored 12 points on 4-6 FG in the second half and was 2-3 from three in the second half, hitting the dagger. Even though RJ had a nice second half, he needs to start off better. Immanuel Quickley had 24 points off the bench. He shot 8-14 from the field, also adding four assists and three steals. He was also a game high +14. Quickley just keeps on adding to his 6MOTY worthy campaign. Quentin Grimes also had another great game, scoring 23 points, while shooting 8-14 from the field. He added 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. Josh Hart had another very strong game, scoring 13 points on 85% from the field, adding 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and two steals.

Playoff Implications

The Knicks have been very good down the stretch, and they have put themselves in a position where if they win, they clinch a playoff spot. This win for the Knicks may very well have also put the Miami Heat out of contention for a top 6 seed.
