Fatigue hit the Nets hard, as they lose badly to Magic. Everyone but Bridges and Thomas didn’t show up at all. The Nets offense just didn’t cut it today only scoring more than 27 points in a quarter once. The defense was bad as well, giving up more than 30 points in a quarter twice. The Nets were out shot, rebounded, and had more turnovers. The nets shot 40.7% from the field and 22.9% from three. Absolutely abysmal, they had 15 turnovers as well. They were dominated in the paint as well, being outscored 58-38.

Mikal Bridges showed his stardom again today, though he had no help from just about everyone else. Bridges put up 44 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal. He shot 13-22 from the field, 6-9 from three, and 12-12 from the free throw line. Mikal Bridges matched the combined points of Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian FInney-Smith, Nic Claxton, Cam Johnson, Joe Harris, Yuta Watanabe, Day’Ron Sharpe, Patty Mills, and Dru Smith. Absolutely awful.

Spencer Dinwiddie was just horrible tonight, there’s really no other way to describe it. He put up just 2 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds in 29 minutes. He shot 0-11 from the field, 0-6 from three, and 2-2 from the free throw line. DFS was bad too, with just 2 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 25 minutes. He shot 1-7 from the field, and 0-4 from three.

Cam Thomas actually got to play today! He got 28 minutes, here’s what he did: 18 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists. He shot 7-16 from the field and 0-4 from three. Thomas was the second highest scorer on the team today, and he didn’t even start. Hopefully JV will give him an actual chance to play his way into the rotation now.
The Nets still hold the 6th seed, but no longer have the half game advantage in the standings. Good thing they swept the season series with the Heat. The Nets are back in action on Wednesday vs the Houston Rockets at 7:30 PM EST.
