Randle & Knicks Fall to Timberwolves 140-134

Despite Julius Randle putting up 57 points against Minnesota, the Knicks lose by 6. The first half was rough especially defensively, Minnesota shot over 80% from the field in that half, Taurean Price absolutely lit up the Knicks, putting up 35 points on 8-8 shooting from 3

RJ Barrett has started to pick up his play lately, Head Coach Tom Thibodeau says that lately Barrett has put more of an emphasis on driving to the basket and going for lay up shots, not settling for floaters like he has in other parts of the season. If Barrett is able to be consistent going into the playoffs, the Knicks will be a very difficult team to beat. The Knicks play a playoff contender in the Miami Heat on Wednesday, they should hopefully be able to bounce back against them and get back in the win column.

Immanuel Quickley is the betting favorite for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award, edging out Boston’s Malcom Brogdon. Quickley provides everything you want out of a 6th man. He’s a good scorer and playmaker, and defensively he’s one of the best players in all of basketball. He should run away with this award over the final stretch of games and into the playoffs. Quickley is extension eligible this summer and I expect the Knicks to engage in talks with him to keep him at the Garden for years to come.
