The Nets fail to comeback, and lose by 6. The Nets hit a roadblock in the third that took them out of the game. The Cavs shot 54.2% from the field and 57.1% from three in the third quarter, adding ten points to their lead over the quarter. The Nets on the other hand the Nets shot 47.6% from the field, and only 25% from three in the quarter. These stats showcase why the Nets lost, they just couldn’t keep up in the third quarter. The offense went cold, and the defense couldn’t stop the Cavs.

Day’Ron Sharpe played very well today, scoring 20 points, shooting 8-12 from the field and 1-1 from 3. Sharpe logged 11 rebounds, no assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and the team was +27 when he was on the court. He showed what the Nets have been hoping he would today, the ability to be a good backup center to Nic Claxton.
The Nets are missing a dynamic scorer. They seem to have one on the bench in Cam Thomas but for some reason choose to play Seth Curry over him. Seth was abysmal in the 10 minutes he got today, putting up 0 points, 0 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals and 2 personal fouls. He was 0-3 as well. It is confusing how Cam rots on the bench, while Seth continues to play, even though he has been awful of late.

Last but not least let’s talk about the twins, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. They were not great, as they struggled defensively, and offensively. Johnson has yet to find his stride shooting wise with the Nets, and that hurt them today. Bridges had his worst performance as a Net, putting up 18 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. He shot 9-21 from the field, and 0-8 from 3. Johnson on the other hand shot 4-11 from the field and 2-4 from three. If the Nets hope to contend they need Mikal to play like he has since joining the team, and for Johnson to look more like Suns Johnson.
