The Rangers just won their fourth straight game, and just got their second straight shutout win this weekend at Madison Square Garden. How did it happen? Well, to summarize it all up quickly, the Rangers started the game by scoring a franchise record 5 goals in 10 minutes, courtesy of Filip Chytil, Mika Zibanejad, Tyler Motte, K’Andre Miller, and Artemi Panarin. Three minutes after all of this, K’Andre Miller scored his fourth point of the period by making it 6-0 on a laser from the point. The only other goal scored was Chris Kreider, nine minutes into the second period on a tip in.

Jaroslav Halak’s play these last two games have been back to what the Rangers have asked for out of the backup goalie. His play Sunday night against Nashville earned him his first shutout, as he went and stopped all 22 shots he faced. Halak had a sequence in the first period where he stopped 4 straight shots in about ten seconds, then got the secondary assist on the game-opening Filip Chytil goal. It was also Halak’s first point of the season.
⭐️: K’Andre Miller, 2 goals, 2 assists, +5
⭐️⭐️: Jaroslav Halak, 22 saves, shutout
⭐️⭐️⭐️: Artemi Panarin, 1 goal, 2 assists, +2
My personal ⭐️: Jacob Trouba. He played a very strong game, and the pair with Trouba and Miller had arguably their strongest game of the season. Trouba racked up two points, (both assists) and was a +4, while also blocking two shots.
