The Rangers won again, their third straight game, and got a point for their sixth consecutive game. There was so much behind this win, let’s get to it. Starting it off in the first period, 5:10 in, Mika Zibanejad caught a loose puck and back-handed it in for a 1-0 Ranger lead. With 10 seconds left in the first, whilst the Rangers on a Power Play, Artemi Panarin snapped one in pats Jarry and the Rangers went up 2-0. Igor Shesterkin played well that period, putting up 15 saves. The rest of the Rangers scoring came in the second period, with Vladimir Tarasenko getting a one timer from Mika Zibanejad and past Jarry for a 3-0 lead. Zibanejad and Tarasenko have had a really nice connection. About 3 minutes after that, Patrick Kane gave a nice feed for a Chris Kreider tip-in to make it 4-0 Rangers. Two minutes after that, Jacob Trouba got a feed from Tarasenko and made it 5-0, and to cap it all off, Filip Chytil made a nice feed to Patrick Kane, who made a nice feed to Artemi Panarin who buried home his second of the game and the Rangers went on to win 6-0.

Igor Shesterkin was magnificent again tonight, he’s been on an absolute tear lately. He really looks like the Igor we once saw in last years campaign. Shesterkin posted his second shutout of the season tonight, his first since November 1st, 2022. In Igor’s last 8 games, he’s posted a .929 SV% and has gone 7-1-0 in that span.
⭐️: Igor Shesterkin, 33 saves, shutout.
⭐️⭐️: Mika Zibanejad, 1 goal, 2 assists, +3
⭐️⭐️⭐️: Artemi Panarin, 2 goals, +4
My personal ⭐️: Patrick Kane. He played really well tonight, putting up 2 primary assists, and he’s racked up 7 points in 8 games played with the Rangers. The team is 5-2-1 after trading for Kane, who’s contributed mightily to this hot stretch. If the Rangers want to go for a run to the Stanley Cup, they need to keep clicking on all cylinders.
