On Wednesday night, and the 2nd half of a back to back, the Isles get a much needed win against the Ducks and tie up the Wild Card race for the top spot. as they are tied with the Penguins at 78 points. (PIT has 3 games in hand)

The Isles got off to a rough start after Anaheim took the lead less than a minute into the game, but the Isles kept their calm, Brock Nelson had two goals, Parise, Engvall and Fasching got in on the scoring as well.

My player to watch down this final 12 game stretch of the regular season has to be F Kyle Palmeri. He had a goal yesterday, and he’s been fairly consistent on that 2nd line. Coming out of the All-Star break we saw Palmeri go on a point streak, if he can continue that type of production his impact will be huge for the Isles down the stretch.

The Isles should give Sorokin a rest
Though the games down the stretch are absolutely critical, the Isles can’t get away with starting Sorokin 8 out of 10 games in this portion of the season, at least two of the goals he let up yesterday were ones he saves with ease normally, Varlomov needs to start some of these games to give Sorokin time to rest.
