Isles Fall to Kings 5-2.

Though this game was over fairly early, the Isles did get some good production out of newly acquired F Pierre Engvall, as well as JG Pagaeu who returned from IR yesterday.

The return of Pagaeu is going to be a very big one especially with Barzal still out. He’s one of the Isles more consistent players, as well as that he excels in the faceoffs. Something the Isles utilized him for a lot before trading for Bo Horvat.

Josh Bailey simply cannot be on this team next season. The Isles have done everything possible besides actually getting rid of him, but continue to place him on the top line with Lee and Horvat. Then gets demoted to 4th line, nevertheless, Bailey cannot be on this team next year. I think Lou Lamoriello and company are completely aware of that, but his contract is difficult to trade.

The Road Forward

The Isles next two games are against bottom feeders currently in the Conor Bedard sweepstakes, Aneheim and San Jose respectively, the Isles need to capitalize by winning both of these games. In a tight wild card race, with teams like Florida and Buffalo looking to unseat them, they need to take advantage of these games.
