Knicks Beat Lakers 112-108

The Knicks on the 2nd half a back-to-back, they get past the Lakers who were without F LeBron James, and the Knicks improve to 40-30, sitting tied with the Brooklyn Nets for 5th in the eastern conference. The Knicks continue to navigate without Jalen Brunson.

RJ Barrett had a nice game, scoring 30 points despite inefficient shooting (12-27). If this is potentially a sign of things to come for Barrett; hopefully he can be consistent down the stretch into the playoffs especially when Jalen Brunson is injured.

Immanuel Quickley has done a great job of filling in for Jalen Brunson, putting up a solid range of 15-25 points routinely when he starts, including a 38 point masterclass against Boston last week. Quickley is currently the favorite for the NBA’s 6th Man of the Year, the race down to mainly him, and Boston’s Malcom Brogdon.

The Road Forward

The Knicks play Portland on Tuesday, who could be without their best player in Damien Lillard. Then Denver, which is in my opinion the toughest game remaining on the schedule, after this they face easier teams including the incumbent Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets. The Knicks need to capitalize on this final stretch of games and attempt to lock in the #5 seed.
