Isles Win Critical Game against Winnipeg

In the 3rd period, struggling F Simon Holmström sniped a shot that got past Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to give the Isles a 2-1 lead. He’s been struggling since returning from injury, and that goal could be the boost that he needs to be more consistent offensively as he was earlier in the season.

Staying Alive

The Islanders have won some crutial games of late, two against Pittsburgh, and tonight against the Jets. The Isles remain atop the Wild Card race, above Pittsburgh, Washington, Florida, and Buffalo. Though they will be without F Mat Barzal for the foreseeable future, perhaps the rest of the regular season, the Islanders can still improve their roster by the trade deadline.

Another Struggling Isle finds the net

Defenceman Sebastion Aho also found the net for the Islanders en route to their 2-1 win over the Jets, Aho has been all around very inconsistent this year. defensively he’s been on the third pair with a rotation of partners. Including Alex Romanov, Noah Dobson and Samuel Bolduc. Maybe tonight’s game can give him some consistency.
