Semyon Varlomov and the New York Islanders went into TD Garden in Boston, and got absolutely destroyed by the Boston Bruins by a score of 6-2. This loss doesn’t effect the standings too much, but being the second half of a back-to-back, the Islanders were honestly never expected to win this game in my opinion.

Mat Barzal leaves with Injury
Islanders F Mat Barzal left the game less than 5 minutes into the first period, and didn’t return for the rest of the game. Hopefully his injury isn’t too serious and he’ll be back for Monday’s game against the Penguins. This Isles team missing Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Oliver Wahlstrom among others, absolutely cannot afford to lose Barzal at this part of the season.

Anders Lee has Stepped up
The Isles captain has stepped up lately, HC Lane Lambert moving Josh Bailey off of the top line, putting Lee with Barzal and Horvat, has payed off, including multiple games with multiple goals since. The Isles need to be consistent offensively if they want to make the playoffs. Let alone content for a Stanley Cup.
