Knicks Swing Blockbuster Deal For Star F Mikal Bridges; Re-Sign OG Anunoby to Five-Year Deal

Mikel Bridges is a New York Knick. The Nova gauntlet = complete. Leon Rose swung this deal last night around 10 pm, but both sides (BKN and NYK) did very good in this deal. Bridges averaged 19.6 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 3.6 APG while shooting 44% from the field, 37% from three and 81.4% from the charity stripe. Bridges stands 6’6 and is thought of as one of the best young 3&D wings in the NBA. New York traded 35-year-old Bojan Bogdanovic, who almost completely matches Bridges’ salary in this deal. The difference in salaries was $3m, which the Knicks will do any day of the week.

  • NYK receives: Mikal Bridges, 2026 second-round pick
  • BKN receives: Bojan Bogdanovic, 2025 first, 2027 first, 2029 first, 2031 first, 2028 first-round swap, 2025 second, 2025 first (via MIL)

At 6:13 PM, Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that OG Anunoby would be returning on a five-year deal worth $212.5M. The Knicks, who went 26-6 in the 32 games Anunoby played with the team, were prioritizing OG over anything else this offseason. Can and will the Knicks still re-sign Isaiah Hartenstein, that’s unknown, but New York is gearing up. In his 23 games in the regular season as a Knick, OG averaged 14.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 2 APG, along with 2 steals and a block per game. Anunoby played 4 minutes in game 7 vs. Indiana, so that doesn’t do his averages justice, but excluding that one game, Anunoby averaged 16.5 PPG, 6.8 RPG, and 1.3 APG. Anunoby also had a 28 point outburst in game two against Indiana in the second round.

To me, the Knicks needed to do this. Anunoby provides spacing, defensive prowess, versatility, good shooting, etc. Will Isaiah Hartenstein be next, or will he walk? Only time will tell…
