Lou Lamoriello reportedly trying to make Ehlers deal come through

Per source, on Friday, the day of the NHL Draft, Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello will try to make a deal for Winnipeg Jets left-winger, Nikolaj Ehlers. Ehlers, 28, is a shooting winger, which the Islanders are in need of, who posted up 25 goals and 36 assists, combining for 61 points. Ehlers, who has been injured a lot in his past seasons, played all 82 games for the Jets this season. Ehlers’s play also would fit the Islanders system because he has speed and is very good on zone entries. He would also be a fit for the first powerplay. The rumored deal for Ehlers is not completely confirmed, but, it is rumored that the Islanders 1st round pick, 20th overall, will most likely be used in the deal. You can also expect one of the Islanders 2 2nd round picks to be used. Ehlers would be a great addition to this Islanders team playing on a line with Bo Horvat and Mathew Barzal.
